Richland Creek April 6th, 2014
We managed to hook a few whites in Richland Creek after the big rise from last week's rain--chartreuse Clousers worked best in the stained water. The rivers are all high and muddy again from the rain this weekend, but at least Richland should be fishable again in a couple of days.
First White Bass Camp of 2014
We headed south on Sunday to find some warmer water and white bass, and while the white bass runs down south are definitely further along than they are up here, the cold snap and high water from this past weekend’s rain slowed down the fishing considerably. That being said, we still managed to land several nice whites on switch rods, and I ended the trip with a big striper that peeled off line until he was well into my backing, making me chase him down river to try and catch up! Thanks for the advice and helping me pick out some flies for the trip. Only got to go fishing one day but we did well, caught eight bones with three of those over five pounds and the largest around seven. Had others on and lost them and had shots at fish all day long with some double-digit bones around as well. Very challenging fishing having to make a good cast into the wind while the boat is moving and the hardest part not stepping on your line on the boat deck. Thanks again man! Scott F.
