Caddis Hatch en Fuego!
It's almost June, and the caddis hatch on the White River below Bull Shoals is still on fire! Catching the bigger fish on caddis pupa, but hooking plenty of decent trout on dry flies as well!
Twin Bridges White Bass
The river level came up from that half inch of rain, but it didn't blow out. Fishing was a little slow this morning, but we managed to hook a few whites and one nice walleye. As the water temperature warms back up, the white bass run should really start fishing well!
HOSTED ALASKA TRIP--2015
Our Alaska Wilderness Safari trip was a huge success this past September! This was our fourth hosted trip to the AWS Camp, and the fishing, the scenery, the helicopter flights—the whole experience was just as thrilling as our first trip! Epic really is the best word to describe it! If you are interested in joining us on our fifth hosted trip to the AWS Camp in September of 2017, we still have a few open spots. Call or email us at the shop, and we can fill you in on all of the details. Now for some of our pics:...

Also, I humbly feel like I've paid my fair share of steelhead dues over the years--from frozen rod guides, frozen fingers and frozen rivers, to fishless weeks, lost lunkers and patching holes in rafts--but still, as I strapped down the last corner of my cargo net, cracked a Rainer tallboy and poured the first pull on the bow of my raft (like I said, I am a little-stitous), it was with complete...
Winter Storm Bozeman vs. McFlyShop Steelhead Trip
We knew it was a gamble going steelhead fishing this late in the season, and just like what usually happens when I gamble, we lost! The first three days were perfect conditions—lows in the low 40’s, highs in the 50’s with water temperature hovering just above 50-degrees—and the fishing was decent too, swinging up a fish a day, but only landing one. No worries, I thought, I’ve got another ten days on the water, and the fishing only gets better further downstream…but then the bottom fell out. Before Winter Storm Bozeman, we filtered our water outside, but after, we had...
