The river level came up from that half inch of rain, but it didn't blow out. Fishing was a little slow this morning, but we managed to hook a few whites and one nice walleye. As the water temperature warms back up, the white bass run should really start fishing well!

Our Alaska Wilderness Safari trip was a huge success this past September! This was our fourth hosted trip to the AWS Camp, and the fishing, the scenery, the helicopter flights—the whole experience was just as thrilling as our first trip! Dave with a nice smallmouth that jumped completely out of the water and took his Wiggle Minnow on the way back down! It was Ashton's first time to chase smallmouth with a fly rod, but she got the hang of it pretty quickly! Ashton with her first smallmouth bass on a fly rod--congrats Ashton, well done! The river was in great shape and relatively uncrowded (at least by Elk River standards), so we took our time...
