Twin Bridges Area - April 23, 2014
A pre-work "staff meeting" was held this morning. It went pretty good. Grey and white Clousers worked best for me. Call in sick, skip work or class, do whatever you have to do to get out there and chase the whites--it won't last long!
Twin Bridges Area - April 21, 2014
The white bass fishing was good this weekend, and we received a few more decent reports from today. If we don't get blown out by the rain forecasted for tonight, the fishing should be great this week! Unfortunately, the season isn't going to last much longer, so get out there as soon and as often as possible! Another nice whitie on the Scott L2H 11' 5wt switch rod!Locked and loaded--the McFlyShop boat rack full of Scott rods ready for some white bass action!
Twin Bridges Area - April 14, 2014
With two inches of rain forecasted for Sunday, we fished hard through the wind and the rain as the front blew through, thinking it might be our last chance to fish for white bass for a while. We had to work for them, but we all managed to land several nice whites and even a few walleye! Turns out most of the rain missed us, and our white bass rivers and creeks only registered a small rise and should be fishable this week!
Twin Bridges Area - April 12, 2014
We got into a lot more and bigger white bass today! Bright Clousers like Chartreuse and Yellow were working best. Lots of "firsts" this morning: Jeff got his first white bass on a fly rod, and Junior got his first white bass on his new switch rod--he was really getting into the swing of spey casting by the time I had to leave to open the shop! My apologies to the customers waiting in the parking lot this morning--I was a little late to work!
Richland Creek - April 11, 2014
Dave and I caught some small whites this morning before work. Richland Creek is in great shape, and the White River is clearing nicely. Should be some great white bass fishing this weekend!
