A River in the Ozarks - June 8, 2011
As evidenced by these photos from recent guide trips with Forrest Smith, the smallmouth and high-water trout fishing has been superb lately! In spite of all the high water on our tailwaters, the dry fly fishing has been very good with big cicada patterns! The smallmouth rivers are in great shape, and the post-spawn fish have been hammering Clouser Minnows, Wiggle Minnows and various crawdad patterns! To see more big fish pics, check out Forrest’s Facebook Page or his website.
Pesca Maya Hosted Trip 2011
Nestor, Miguel and I with an Ascension Bay permit! William with a nice Ascension Bay bonefish! Chris with one of many tarpon he has caught on our Pesca Maya trips! For the last several years, McLellan's Fly Shop has hosted a saltwater flats trip to Pesca Maya—one of our favorite saltwater destinations. Little Red River - March 28, 2011
Thanks for bringing the Fly Fishing Film Tour to us; it was great! Yesterday this Little Red River hook jaw chomped down on a size 10 March Brown. Randy G. The F3T was a blast! Almost as much fun as hooking a big hook-jaw brown on a dry fly! Thanks for the pic and the report!
Norfork Tailwater - March 27, 2011
I just did one of those fish calculators that use length and girth to estimate weight. It was 28.75" long and estimated weight is 16-18 pounds. I caught it on the Norfork River on a size 16 Zebra Midge using 6X tippet. Dan M. Wow, Dan, congratulations on an AWESOME brown, and on 6X tippet to boot! Thanks for the pic and the report!
Bull Shoals Tailwater - February 15, 2011
Over the past two weekends, there has been a significant amount of low water on all of our White River System Tailwaters, and as a result, we have been receiving several excellent fishing reports! For instance, Brock hooked this massive, twenty-eight inch brown while throwing big streamers at night! Congratulations, Brock, on an awesome fish—I think I know where you’ll be this weekend!
