Bull Shoals Tailwater - February 9, 2012
Made it over to the White to fish with a friend for the day and had an awesome day bangin the banks with streamers. The browns are really starting to chase streamers consistently in the high water, and we boated around 20 fish in the 16-21 inch range like this guy. Jason caught his personal best fish when this big hooked jaw male hammered his streamer off an undercut bank! If you have a boat, or can get your hands on one, get over to the White or Norfork for some of this awesome streamer action! If you have any...
Bull Shoals Tailwater - January 9, 2012
Brock and I took advantage of the low water below Bull Shoals Dam this weekend, and had a blast breaking in some new switch rods! It was cold and wet on Sunday, but the feisty rainbows and fat browns that smashed our streamers as they swung across the current kept us out past dark! Michael
Little Red River - November 23, 2010
Cow Shoals was pretty quiet all weekend with the best action in the morning. Swinging Bridge down to Winkley Shoals seemed to be holding some pretty good fish and the fishing was active day and night. We caught most of these trout on very light tippets and size 18 grey sow bugs, fished in the deeper holes during the day. Mike K. Just one of these fish would have been a Trip Fish! Looks like the night fishing was pretty good too! Mike and the boys fished hard day and night—sleeping is definitely overrated on a fishing trip! Just a...
Bull Shoals Tailwater - November 22, 2011
Justin and crew got in some dynamite night fishing on the White last weekend! They fished all the way through day break and into the next day--now that is a good kind of tired! With all of the low water recently below Bull Shoals Dam, there have been lots of wade-fishing opportunities. Watch the graphs, and if you see a six- to eight-hour-plus window of no generation, head to the river! With that amount of time, you can river hop and stay with the low water all day!
A Creek in the Ozarks - November 3, 2011
We camped/fished an Ozark creek over the weekend and had a ball—beautiful fall foliage, remote country, cool temps, and warm whiskey. It was a bear getting in there—the last 18 miles to the campsite (which is still officially closed) was a winding 45-minute drive over mountain gravel roads, and that made the whole experience even sweeter. We got a handful of brownies to bite olive Crazy Dads, but the highlight was undoubtedly this 17+" bruiser, who bit on the final cast of the trip. Danny was so eager to release the fish that he tripped and took a swim while...
