Norfork Tailwater - February 9, 2009

I had a great day on the Norfork on Saturday. We walked in from Ackerman's all the way to the top of the catch and release section and had it to ourselves. I caught fish on everything that I tried...zebra midge, olive scuds (16), sow bugs and did especially well in the moving water on a soft hackle, including a legitimate 18" rainbow. The wind

was pretty strong producing a lot of wave action and I ended up throwing a small pine squirrel / marabou streamer under an indicator in black and did best on it. I was only a brook trout away from the grand slam and caught 40-50 between 9:00 - 3:00. It was pretty nice.

Thanks for the report,Larry! Sounds like a great trip! It's almost always the brookie that holds up the Grand Slam!
